Airflex 4500 Ethylene-vinyl chloride polymer Air Products North America Ethylene co-terpolymers - solid (EVA, EMA) Airflex 4500, an aqueous ethylene-vinyl chloride copolymer dispersion, can be used in applications requiring good flexibility and water or alkali resistance. Airflex 4500 emulsion polymer, having a higher vinyl chloride content than Airflex 728, has a lower moisture vapor transmission rate (MVTR) and also better nonflammability characteristics. Possible applications for Airflex 4500 emulsion polymer include roof coatings, mastics and cellulosic insulations. Three grades of Airflex EVCL emulsions are available: Airflex 4500, 4514 and 4530. These emulsion products demonstrate excellent mechanical stability over a wide pH range and generate minimal odor. Some of the many beneficial characteristics of EVCLs are excellent water and grease resistance, high gloss potential, crosslinkability, inherent flame retardance, excellent strength and abrasive properties, low heat seal temperatures, good adhesion to cellulose, inks, foils, and plastic films, good to excellent flexibility, moderate water vapor and gas barrier properties and internal plasticization (no plasticizer migration.) An aqueous ethylene-vinyl chloride copolymer dispersion. Used in roof coatings. Offers very good water and grease resistance. Provides high gloss potential, crosslinkability and inherent flame retardance. Possesses very good strength and abrasive properties. Exhibits very good flexibility.
