Airflex 810 Vinyl acetate-ethylene emulsion copolymer modified with vinyl chloride Air Products North America Vinyl >> Vinyl Acetate Polymer Emulsions Architectural / Decorative >> Interior wall coatings Airflex 810 emulsion is an aqueous dispersion of a vinyl acetate-ethylene (VAE) copolymer and was designed specifically for use in architectural coatings. The polymer is ammonia free and does not require the addition of coalescing solvents. These features make Airflex 810 an excellent binder for use in low odor, low VOC paints. Airflex 810 emulsion can be formulated into a wide variety of solvent containing and solvent free paints. Its relatively large particle size provides inherently good hiding, flow and leveling. Flat and non-flat paints containing Airflex 810 emulsion exhibit an outstanding balance of key properties, such as scrub resistance, block and freeze thaw stability. With the right selection of rheology modifiers and surfactants, paints with Airflex 810 emulsion have excellent color and viscosity stability. The intrinsic coalescing ability of Airflex 810 allows it to form a film without the need for coalescing solvents. This translates into the ability to formulate cost-effective, low odor paints. Equally important however, is the ability to meet stringent new VOC regulations with this environmentally friendly product. Airflex 810 emulsion is readily formulated with additives commonly used in the coatings industry today, and may be blended with other polymer types, such as acrylics and vinylacrylics.
