Surfynol 2502 Acetylenic-based Air Products North America Wetting agent/ Wet edge enhancer >> Surfactant Coatings >> Waterborne Inks >> Water-based Wood & Furniture Coatings Surfy¯nol 2502 surfactant is a 100% active, light yellow liquid that provides specific performance benefits in a broad range of water-based systems. It is an acetylenic-based surfactant representing "new" chemistry built on the novel attributes of the Surfy¯nol family of products. Surfy¯nol 2502 represents the first in a series of ethoxylated/propoxylated acetylenic-based surfactants that are different from the traditional Surfy¯nol and Dy¯nol products. It offers low dynamic surface tension at low use levels, low pseudoequilibrium surface tension, excellent foam destabilization, and is extremely low- VOC (1.2%). It is also easy to incorporate and is stable in hard water. The benefits of Surfy¯nol 2502 are demonstrated in countless applications. A few such applications along with specific Surfy¯nol 2502 benefits are listed below: Benefits in fountain solutions: wide dampening window, improved ink, emulsification characteristics, improved gloss; benefits in metalworking fluids: improved fines removal; benefits in packaging inks: improved printability, minimum print defects, no negative effect on water resistance; benefits in wood coatings: high water solubility, no phase separation. An acetylenic-based surfactant. Used in wood coatings and packaging inks. Possesses improved printability and minimum print defects. Offers no negative effect on water resistance. Provides high water solubility. No phase separation.
