Lankrostat QAT is the most effective antistatic agent for palsticised PVC on the Akcros Chemicals range, hence it has found use in the more demanding applications such as mine conveyor belting and ducting plus antistatic PVC clothing. Unfortunately , it adversely affects PVC compound heat stability. Conventional metal soap based stabilisers show poor performance in the presence of Lankorstat QAT, and it is more usual to use solid lead salts like TBLS. Addition levels of 2-5phr are recommended for Lankrostat QAT. Above this level, exudation may be experienced plus severe heat stabilisation problems. If the desired antistatic performance is not produced with 5phr of QAT, or if the heat stability problems cannot be overcome sufficiently, a compromise between antistatic performance and heat stability can be reached with combination systems such as Lankrostat QAT/LA3 or ankrostat QAT/0-600 (1-5 phr or each antistatic agent). .
