Bermocoll CST 257 Ethyl hydroxyethyl cellulose Akzo Nobel Dispersing agents Rheology Modifier/ Thickener >> Cellulosic, non associative >> Hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC) Coatings >> Waterborne BERMOCOLL CST 257 is a non-ionic, water-soluble cellulose ether. It improves the consistency, the stability, and the water retention of water-based products. Specifications BERMOCOLL CST 257 is a high viscosity grade of ethyl hydroxy ethyl cellulose. Applications BERMOCOLL CST 257 is used in latex paints for thickening and stabilizing effects. Normal dosage in paints is 0.2 -0.5 % calculated on total paint weight. BERMOCOLL CST 257 is easily dispersed in cold water of pH 7 or less. BERMOCOLL CST 257 can form lumps when added to alkaline liquid. To avoid this, it should be added as a ready stock solution, as a slurry in slightly acid water or in organic solvent, or as a dry mix with other powder materials. The dissolving time after dispersion is influenced by the water pH. Alkaline additives can be used to speed up the dissolving process. Non-ionic, high viscosity grade of ethyl hydroxyethyl cellulose. Improves the consistency, the stability, and the water retention of water based products. Weak surface activity. Can be used in latex paints for thickening and stabilizing effects.
