Conventional propylene oxide based polyether polyols are prepared with KOH catalysis. This manufacturing method produces terminally unsaturated end groups forming polyols that contain monoalcohols. These monofunctional or monol chains act as chain terminotors in polyurethane formation producing polyurethanes having low molecular weight and inferior physical properties.
