SI 316-4 Phenolic modified ester Arizona Chemical Polyester INKS >> Lithographic and Offset Inks >> Sheetfed Offset INKS >> Lithographic and Offset Inks >> Nonheatset Web SI 316-4 PHENOLIC MODIFIED ESTER is a high viscosity, highly elastic, low solubility resin designed for producing heatset and sheetfed inks. Its unique relationship between viscosity and elasticity reduces the need for gelling agents in heatset, sheetfed and news/no-heat web offset vehicles. Its marginal compatibility in mineral oils and good compatibility with vegetable oils and ester solvents makes it idea for fast setting, high solids low VOC ink systems. SI 316-4 is produced using SYLVAPRINT® HSR (Heat Stable Rheology) chemistry and demonstrates stable rheology over a wider range of temperatures relative to conventional rosin or hydrocarbon based resins. It possesses high molecular weight, high gel reactivity / high elasticity, good compatibility with mineral oils, soya oil, linseed oil, alkyd and tall oil fatty ester solvents, low aliphatic tolerance, good solvent release and good film former, yields strong gel formation with a minimum amount of gelling agent.Produces low misting vehicles and inks, allows for production of high solids, low VOC inks, facilitates fast set times. It is used in let-down vehicles for heatset, new/no-heat web applications, let-down vehicles for conventional and high solids sheetfed inks. High viscosity, highly elastic phenolic modified ester. Used for producing heatset and sheetfed inks. Possesses unique relationship between viscosity and elasticity reduces the need for gelling agents in heatset, sheetfed and news/no-heat web offset vehicles. Offers marginal compatibility in mineral oils and good compatibility with vegetable oils and ester solvents.
