It exhibits excellent compatibility with nitrocellulose. It is soluble in aromatic and cycloaliphatic hydrocarbons, esters and ketones and insoluble in mineral spirits, lower glycols and alcohol. It is compatabile with nitrocellulose, ethyl cellulose, alkyds, plasticizers, and most ingredients Maleic modified resin. Used in nitrocellulose coatings and printing inks and as a dispersing resin in "C" and "T" type gravure inks. Possesses good compatability with nitrocellulose.
