Its low molecular weight, high aliphatic compatibility and poly functional chemistry make it ideal for pigment dispersion. It is also an excellent co-solvating resin when used in gel varnishes with limited solubility phenolic modified rosin esters. It possesses high aliphatic tolerance, low molecular weight and low viscosity, excellent solubility in mineral spirits, excellent choice for pigment flushing and dry grinding operations, high resin loading possible to providing maximum pigment wetting, useful in wood stains and deck varnish coatings. It is used in flushing and dry grinding varnishes, co-solvating resin used with other high viscosity resins of limited solubility, coating applications including deck stains and varnishes.
