Kynar 500 Polyvinylidene fluoride resin Arkema Vinyl >> Polyvinyl Fluoride (PVF) Coatings Metal KYNAR 500 resin is a fluoropolymer – polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) – that is used as the major vehicle (base resin) in liquid coatings formulated by leading paint manufacturers. KYNAR 500 resin is marketed under a license agreement. When formulated into a coating composition which, according to the license agreement, contains a minimum of 70% by weight of KYNAR 500 resin, the resultant coatings exhibit superior: Color retention, chalk resistance, corrosion resistance, flexibility, stain resistance, overall exterior durability. KYNAR 500 based coatings are typically applied to building components such as metal siding and roofing, storefront extrusions, curtainwalls, louvers, skylights and other miscellaneous metal trim and extrusions. Components can be either post formed from pre-coated coil stock or spray coated after fabrication. Special KYNAR 500 based coating formulations that exhibit increased abrasion or corrosion protection are available through the KYNAR 500 licensees. Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) resin. Used in metal coatings. OFfers very good olor retention and chalk resistance. Provides very good corrosion resistance and flexibility. Possesses very good stain resistance and overall exterior durability. Exhibits increased abrasion resistance.
