They are used extensively as initiators in free radical polymerization Free radicals can react with a Luperox® 10M75 in several ways. The most common point of attack is the oxygen-oxygen bond.Induced decomposition is usually undesirable because the peroxyester decomposes without a resulting net increase in the number of free-radicals. Luperox® 10M75 are somewhat less stable to hydrolysis than the analogous non-peroxidic esters, and may hydrolyze to regenerate an acid and a hydroperoxide under certain conditions (i.e. alkaline condition). Luperox® 10M75 halflife data can vary somewhat in different solvents owing to polar effects and/or induced decomposition effects, especially in the absence of free-radical scavengers. It is soluble in most organic solvents and insoluble in water. T-Butyl peroxyesters. Offers the widest range of activity among all the classes of organic peroxides available.
