Alpha-cumyl peroxyesters derived from aromatic peroxycarboxylic acids or unbranched aliphatic peroxycarboxylic acids undergo this rearrangement reaction whereas alphacumyl peroxyesters derived from di- or tri-alphabranched aliphatic peroxycarboxylic acids undergo thermolyses to form free-radicals. Free radicals can react with a Luperox® 188M75 in several ways. The most common point of attack is the oxygen-oxygen bond.Induced decomposition is usually undesirable because the peroxyester decomposes without a resulting net increase in the number of free-radicals. Luperox® 188M75halflife data can vary somewhat in different solvents owing to polar effects and/or induced decomposition effects, especially in the absence of free-radical scavengers. It is soluble in most organic solvents and insoluble in water. Acumyl peroxyesters. Offers the widest range of activity among all the classes of organic peroxides available. Used extensively as initiators in free radical polymerization.
