Luperox 26M50 t-Butyl Peroxy-2-ethyl-hexanoate 3006-82-4 Arkema North America South and Central America Western Europe Central and Eastern Europe Middle East and Central Asia Crosslinking / Coupling / Curing Agents Polyester Vinyl Coatings Architectural / Decorative Automotive OEM General Industrial /Maintenance Insoluble in water Soluble in organic solvent Luperox® 26M50 are t-Butyl peroxyesters which offers the widest range of activity among all the classes of organic peroxides available. They are used extensively as initiators in free radical polymerization Free radicals can react with a Luperox® 26M50 in several ways. The most common point of attack is the oxygen-oxygen bond.Induced decomposition is usually undesirable because the peroxyester decomposes without a resulting net increase in the number of free-radicals. Luperox® 26M50 are somewhat less stable to hydrolysis than the analogous non-peroxidic esters, and may hydrolyze to regenerate an acid and a hydroperoxide under certain conditions (i.e. alkaline condition). Luperox® 26M50 halflife data can vary somewhat in different solvents owing to polar effects and/or induced decomposition effects, especially in the absence of free-radical scavengers. It is soluble in most organic solvents and insoluble in water. T-Butyl peroxyesters. Offers the widest range of activity among all the classes of organic peroxides available.
