Densil C404 2,4,5,6-Tetrachloroiso-phthalonitrile Avecia Preservative >> Biocide, Film protection Coatings >> Waterborne Wood & Furniture Coatings >> Stains Water DENSIL ™ C404, an aqueous dispersion of 2,4,5,6- tetrachloroisophthalonitrile, is a broad spectrum film fungicide for the control of mildew and fungus growth on paint and stains. DENSIL C404 provides excellent fungal disease control when used as a mildewcide in aqueous systems, such as latex emulsion paints, stains, coatings, adhesives, caulks and sealants, grouts and joint compounds, and wood preservative stains. Like natural substrates, coatings (if unprotected) can be susceptible to the growth of a wide range of fungi. The uncontrolled growth of these organisms can lead to the failure of coatings and their in-tended purpose of protecting expensive substrates. DENSIL C404 is a proven and highly effective fungicide which provides long-term protection for such an application. Some critical advantages of the DENSIL C404 active ingredient are: hydrolytic stability, extremely low water solubility, low vapor pressure, optimized fine particle size, excellent pH stability, and endur-ance to UV radiation. 2,4,5,6-Tetrachloroisophthalonitrile is a multi-site protective fungicide. The mode of action is the binding of the active molecule to the glutathion moiety, thus preventing completion of the energy cycle of the fungal species, and ultimately control-ling fungal growth. Unlike many other systemic fungicides, this is not a site specific activity. Hence, there is no known resistance to the fungal control. Aqueous dispersion of 2,4,5,6-tetrachloroisophthalonitrile. Used as a broad spectrum film fungicide for control of mildew and fungus growth on paint and stains. Provides very good fungal disease control when used as a mildewcide in aqueous systems such as latex emulsion paints, stains, coatings and wood preservative stains. Offers long-term protection, hydrolytic stability, very low water solubility, low vapor pressure, optimized fine particle size, very good pH stability and endurance to UV radiation.
