It is used in general industrial coatings, architectural coatings, protective coatings and Bentonite pastes. Wetting and dispersing additive to improve pigment wetting and stabilize the pigment dispersion. It is a controlled flocculating agent and is therefore preferably used in primers and undercoats. If gloss requirements are not too high it can also be used in topcoats. Anti-Terra®-206 creates thixotropy and therefore prevents flooding and floating, settling of the pigments and reduces sagging. The resulting thixotropy from Anti-Terra®-206 is much less pronounced than with Anti-Terra®-203 or Anti-Terra®-204. The additive can be used to gel organophilic bentonites and to produce pastes with improved flow, processability and storage stability. Anti-Terra®-206 is mainly used in anti-corrosion and marine paints based on alkyds, cyclo- and chlorinated rubber, and bituminous derivates. It is used additionally in shop primers and water reducible systems. Due to its water content, it is not compatible with zinc dust. In acid curing and nitrocellulose paints, Anti-Terra®-206 works well to prevent the settling of silica based flatting agents. Solution of an alkylolammonium salt of an unsaturated fatty acid.
