It is used in exterior wall paints, gloss and semi-gloss paints and printing inks. BYK-023 is preferably used in pigmented emulsion paints with a PVC of 30-50 based on styrene/acrylate, acrylate or terpolymer binders. It also can be used in hybrid systems. Silicone defoamer for aqueous coatings, preferably used in pigmented emulsion paints with a PVC of 30-50%, based on styrene acrylate, acrylate or terpolymer binders. The defoamer can also be used in hybrid systems. It is very effective during the production and application of aqueous coatings, it does not influence color acceptance and gloss. For incorporation, sufficiently high shear forces are required to avoid cratering. The defoamer demonstrates excellent long term stability and can also be utilized during the production of polymer dispersions.
