It is used in industrial coatings, protective coatings, wood and furniture coatings, can/coil coatings. Silicone-free defoamer to prevent foam formation during production, filling, and application of solvent-based coatings. BYK®-055 displays spontaneous defoaming properties and demonstrates no negative influence on intercoat adhesion when overcoated. BYK®-055 is especially suitable for wood and furniture coatings based on glossy polyesters, paraffine-polyesters and UV-curing polyesters. Good results can also be achieved in epoxies. Even at low application amounts with curtain coaters, curtain stability is provided. BYK®-055 is not available in the North American market. Please use BYK®-A 500 instead.
