Silicone defoamer for solvent-based and solvent-free coating systems to prevent foam and bubble formation during paint production, filling and application. BYK®-141 is used in general industrial coatings, flooring systems and curtain coatings for wooden substrates. Preferred binders are oil-free polyesters, vinyls, polyurethanes, epoxy esters, nitrocellulose, and acid-curing systems. BYK®-141 is used as defoamer in solvent-based flexo and gravure inks based on nitrocellulose, vinyl resisn, polyurethanes and epoxies. The additive prevents formation of foam and bubbles during production and application of the printing inks. For optimal incorporation the additive should be added during the grinding process.
