It is used in architectural paints, industrial paints and protective coatings. Dispersant for emulsion paints and aqueous systems to reduce the time required for the grinding process and to stabilize the pigment dispersion. It improves gloss and levelling. BYK®-156 does not stabilize foam and can be used as the sole dispersing additive in gloss and semi-gloss emulsion systems. In tinting systems, it achieves (in combination with a wetting additive such as Disperbyk®-181) good color acceptance. BYK®-156 is stable over a pH-range of 4-10. BYK®-156 is only available on the North American market. In other countries use BYK®-154 instead which differs only in solid contents. Solution of an ammonium salt of an acrylate copolymer. Used in architectural paints, industrial paints and protective coatings. Offers improved gloss and levelling. Provides good color acceptance.
