Bayhydrol UV XP 2420 Urethane acrylate Bayer MaterialScience Polyurethane (PU) - Polyurethane dispersions (PUDs) Coatings >> UV / Radiation Curing Coatings >> Waterborne Architectural / Decorative >> Flooring Wood & Furniture Coatings water Bayhydrol UV XP 2420 is a cosolvent free urethane acrylate dispersion used in the formulation of aqueous UV coatings. Form supplied is approximately 40% dispersion in water. Bayhydrol UV XP 2420 is used in the formulation of aqueous UV-curing coatings, especially for application on PVC flooring / wood materials. Additions of 1.0 - 2.5 % by wt. photoinitiator, calculated on the solid binder, have proved suitable for initiating the curing reaction. The viscosity is adjusted by adding polyurethane thickeners. Matting agents should be incorporated in paste form. Once the water has evaporated, the coatings can be cured at a rate of 10 m/min per 80 W/cm lamp. Coatings based on Bayhydrol UV XP 2420 provides physically drying proporties. After UV curing, the paint films have very good mechanical strength, chemical resistance and high flexibilty. Bayhydrol UV XP 2420 offers good adhesion on plastics, especially on PVC and polycarbonate. As with any product, use of Bayhydrol UV XP 2420 in a given application must be tested (including but not limited to field testing) in advance by the user to determine suitability. Cosolvent free urethane acrylate dispersion. Used in aqueous pigmented UV-curing coatings, especially for use on PVC flooring/wood materials. Provides very good mechanical strength, chemical resistance and high flexibilty.
