Bayowet FT 719 Polyether-modified, non-ionic fluorinated surfactant Bayer-Börchers Flow / Levelling agent >> Fluorosurfactant Wetting agent/ Wet edge enhancer >> Surfactant Coatings >> Solventborne Coatings >> Waterborne Bayowet® FT 219 8 Polyether-modified, non-ionic fluorinated surfactant Description Additive to improve levelling and wetting properties of water- (Bayowet® FT 219 and FT 719) and solvent-based (Bayowet® FT 719) systems. Solubility aliphatic hydrocarbons insoluble alcohols soluble esters soluble ketones soluble glycol ethers soluble glycol ether acetates soluble water soluble Properties Bayowet® FT 219 and Bayowet® FT 719 both enrich on the interfaces and thereby decreasing the surface tension, after being solved in the different solvents. In this way even dirty or low energy surfaces can be wetted. The use of Bayowet® FT 219 and Bayowet® FT 719 leads to: - decrease of cratering and pin-hole tendency, - decrease of orange peel, - decrease of pigment float, - increase of levelling during drying process, - increase of pigment wetting and - increase of adhesion on different substrates Applications The paint additives Bayowet® FT 219 and Bayowet® FT 719 show a good binder compatibility and high efficiency in a lot of binder systems. Addition Rate On principle it is possible to add the supplied form directly, but for better incorporation we recommend a predilution. Recommended addition rates are 0.03 to 0.1% active substance, relative to total volume. The exact addition rate have to be found in pre-trials, because a overdose as well as a too low addition can cause unwanted side effects. Re-coatability An impairment of intercoat adhesion or re-coatability is not to be expected at low addition rates. Polyether-modified, non-ionic fluorinated surfactant.
