Baysilone Paint Additive 3466 Polyether modified methyl polysiloxane Bayer-Börchers Flow / Levelling agent >> Silicone Surface conditioner, miscellaneous >> Anti-crater aid Acrylic/Acrylate Resins Polyester Coatings >> Waterborne Baysilone®- Paint Additive VP Al 3466 (Trial Prod.) 5 Polyether-modified methyl polysiloxane, 100% active ingredient Description Additive for elimination of flow defects and pin holes in aqueous paints. Solubility butyl glycol soluble butyl diglycol soluble ethanol soluble 1-propanol soluble N-methyl pyrrolidone sparingly soluble 1-methoxypropyl acetate-2 soluble water soluble Properties Baysilone®-Paint Additive VP Al 3466 is an effective flow-promoter in aqueous paints. lt eliminates spray structures, orange peel effects, craters and pin holes. Uniform, even flow is obtained on vertical and curved surfaces. Wetting of difficult and contaminated substrates is improved. Applications Baysilone®-Paint Additive VP Al 3466 exhibits good binder compatibility and a high degree of efficiency in many binders. lt is particularly suitable for use in chemically curing systems, primarily polyester isocyanate or acrylic isocyanate systems. Addition rate 0.1 - 0.3% by weight based on wet paint. Recoatability Loss of adhesion between base and top coat or of recoatability is unlikely at low addition rates. Such defects, the causes of which include over-baking, may be intensified. Eliminates flow defects and pin holes in aqueous paints. Eliminates spray structures, orange peel effects, craters.
