FR CROS 481 Modified Ammonium Polyphosphate Budenheim Flame retardant / Fire retardant >> Phosphorus based Coatings >> Solventborne Flame retardant agent Halogen free Long chain ammonium polyphosphate After glow supressant Easily dispersible good storage stability Neither toxic nor corrosive Does not produce toxic combustion gases FR CROS 480 is a long chain ammonium polyphosphate phase I halogen free, fine white powder, insoluble in organic solvents. Therefore is used as a catalyst, for solvent based intumescent coatings. Under the impact of heat, FR CROS 481 decomposes under emission of non combustible gases which by forming a blaketing gas layer prevent the access of oxygen to the substrate. The residual acidic polyphosphates act as catalyst for the intumescent reaction by dehydration of carbon rich material. Main use as catalyst for intumescent systems in solvent based paints. Non-toxic, non-corrosive, halogen free ammonium polyphosphate flame retardant agent. Used in solvent based coatings. Possesses good storage stability. Supresses afterglow. Can be easily dispersed. Decomposes under the impact of heat. Induces emission of non combustible gases that are forming a blanketing gas layer and prevent the access of oxygen to the substrate. The residual acidic polyphosphates act as catalyst for the intumescent reaction by dehydration of carbon rich material. Does not produce toxic combustion gases.
