FR CROS S10 Modified Ammonium Polyphosphate Budenheim Flame retardant / Fire retardant >> Phosphorus based Coatings >> Solventborne Coatings >> Waterborne Wood & Furniture Coatings Metal Insoluble in water Insoluble in organic solvent Flame retardant agent Modified ammonium polyphosphate Excellent catalytic effect in the dehydration of C-OH groups Easily dispersible good storage stability Neither toxic nor corrosive Does not produce toxic combustion gases Low particle size FR CROS S10 is a crystaline phase II ammonium polyphosphate is not very soluble in water and completely insoluble in organic solvents. Under the impact of heat, FR CROS S10 decomposes under emission of non combustible gases which by forming a blanketing gas layer prevent the access of oxygen to the substrate. The residual acidic polyphosphates act as catalysts for the intumescent reaction by dehydration of carbon rich material ans the forming of a carbonaceous foam by means a blowing agent. For the passive fire protection of structural steel and wood, it is used as a catalyst in the formulation of intumescent paints. The completely insolubility in solvent organic and the low water solubility allow the formulation of solvent and water based paints. Non-toxic, non-corrosive, modified ammonium polyphosphate flame retardant agent. Used in solvent based and water based coatings for the passive fire protection of structural steel and wood. Possesses a low particle size, and a good storage stability. Decomposes under the impact of heat. Induces emission of non combustible gases that are forming a blanketing gas layer and prevent the access of oxygen to the substrate. The residual acidic polyphosphates act as catalyst for the intumescent reaction by dehydration of carbon rich material. Does not produce toxic combustion gases.
