Glascol LE17 Styrene/acrylic copolymer Ciba Acrylic Resins >> Styrene/ acrylic copolymer >> Emulsions/ Dispersion Inks >> Water-based Printing Inks & Varnishes >> Flexographic inks Water GLASCOL LE17 is a resin developed for water-borne inks. The key benefits of GLASCOL LE17 are: very hard resin very high gloss very high softening point allowing stable print images on hot surfaces GLASCOL LE17 is an aqueous emulsion based on a styrene acrylic copolymer. GLASCOL LE17 is a specialty resin designed for use in water-based inks. The product in recommended as an effective let-down resin in water-based flexographic inks for printing on paper/corrugated paper substrates. Inks based on GLASCOL LE17 are typically very hard and have very high gloss. Due to it’s high softening point GLASCOL LE17 is especially suited for the formulation of inks for pre-printing of corrugated boxes and kraft paper. GLASCOL LE17 does not form a coherent film on its own at room temperature and therefore requires a coalescing solvent. Alternatively, another resin could act as a film former. Suitable resin modifiers for this purpose are GLASCOL LS20, GLASCOL LS23 or GLASCOL LS26. Aqueous emulsion based on a styrene acrylic copolymer. Used as an effective let-down resin in water-based flexographic inks for printing on paper/corrugated paper substrates. Suits particularly for formulation of inks for pre-printing of corrugated boxes and kraft paper. Provides very good hardness, very high gloss and very high softening point allowing stable print images on hot surfaces. Can be used in combination with a resin modifir.
