Glascol LE31 Styrene/acrylic copolymer Ciba Acrylic Resins >> Styrene/ acrylic copolymer >> Emulsions/ Dispersion Inks >> Water-based Printing Inks & Varnishes >> Varnishes / Over print varnish Printing Inks & Varnishes >> Flexographic inks Water GLASCOL LE31 is a resins developed for water-borne inks. The key benefits of GLASCOL LE31 are: excellent adhesion to paper, card and plastic substrates very good resistance to organic and water-based materials excellent abrasion resistance excellent viscosity/pH stability GLASCOL LE31 is a self crosslinking aqueous emulsion based on a styrene acrylic copolymer. GLASCOL LE31 is a soft specialty resin designed for use in water- based inks. The product is recommended as an effective binder in water-based flexographic inks with excellent adhesion characteristics on various plastic substrates made from polyethylene, polypropylene, polycarbonate, polystyrene or ABS. Further, use of GLASCOL LE31 is recommended for the formulation of soft over-print varnishes on paper or plastic substrates. The self crosslinking mechanism of GLASCOL LE31 allows the combination of unusual properties: the cured resin is soft and highly flexible and also abrasion and chemically resistant. In inks it is recommended that GLASCOL LE31 is used as the let-down vehicle. Optimum color development can be achieved when using a highly hydrophilic resin as the pigment grinding vehicle. A very suitable grinding resin for this purpose is GLASCOL LS16. Please ask for the Technical Data Sheet of GLASCOL LS16 for more information. GLASCOL LE31 demonstrates excellent viscosity/pH stability in the pH range 7.5-9.0. Self crosslinking aqueous emulsion based on a styrene acrylic copolymer. Used as an effective binder in water-based flexographic inks with very good adhesion characteristics on various plastic substrates made from polyethylene, polypropylene, polycarbonate, polystyrene or ABS. Recommended for formulation of soft over-print varnishes on paper or plastic substrates. Offers softness and high flexibility. flexible and also abrasion and chemically resistant. Provides very good adhesion to paper, card and plastic substrates, resistance to organic and water-based materials, abrasion resistance and viscosity/pH stability. Can be used as a let-down vehicle in combination with a highly hydrophilic resin as the pigment grinding vehicle to provide optimum color development.
