It is particularly recommended for: · epoxy resins (2p-epoxy systems) · high solids (epoxy esters and alkyds) · alkyd and modified alkyd resins · acrylic resins · 2p-polyurethanes In bake systems, bake temperature should not exceed 150°C. With reactive isocyanates slight yellowing may be observed. Superior corrosion resistance has been observed even when applied over poorly treated surfaces. Additional Formulation Recommendations IRGACOR 153 should be incorporated into the coating formulation by: · replacing anticorrosive pigments with extender/inactive pigments (taking into consideration oil absorption/specific density in order to adjust the PVC/CPVC* to the original level). · addition during pigment grind · post-addition to finished systems IRGACOR 153 is effective as the sole corrosion inhibitor. However, use in combination with common anticorrosive pigments is also possible. *PVC : Pigment Volume Concentration *CPVC : Critical Pigment Volume Concentration The amount of IRGACOR 153 required for optimum performance should be determined in trials covering a concentration range. Liquid organic corrosion inhibitor for protective coatings on metal surfaces. Recommended for use in solvent-borne clear or pigmented coatings. Recommended for epoxy resins (2p-epoxy systems), high solids (epoxy esters and alkyds), alkyd and modified alkyd resins, acrylic resins, 2p-polyurethanes.
