Irgacor 287 Polyamine fatty acid salt 95154-01-1 Ciba Corrosion inhibitor Epoxy Resins Polyurethane Coatings >> Solventborne Coatings >> Waterborne Marine /Anti-Corrosive / Protective Ethanol IRGACOR 287 is a liquid organic corrosion inhibitor specifically designed for use in water-borne and solvent-borne coatings systems. IRGACOR 287 is recommended for use in various water-borne and solvent-borne formulations. The product offers the opportunity to formulate coating systems with superior corrosion resistance. A combination of IRGACOR 287 and extender pigments/fillers can replace inorganic anticorrosive pigments such as zinc phosphates, modified zinc phosphates, barium metaborates etc. IRGACOR 287 may be used as the sole corrosion inhibitor. In certain cases, increased corrosion resistance can be achieved by using IRGACOR 287 in conjunction with other corrosion inhibitors such as IRGACOR 1405 or IRGACOR 1930 (for water-borne systems) and IRGACOR 153 (preferentially for solvent-borne systems). Although liquid, IRGACOR 287 is best incorporated when added to the ground pigment under agitation. In 2P epoxy systems, IRGACOR 287 should be added to the hardener. In 2P polyurethane systems, IRGACOR 287 should be added to the polyol portion. If a given paint recipe is taken as a starting point for formulation work, it is advised to replace the DFWLYH anticorrosive pigment by IRGACOR 287 and extender pigments/fillers, taking into consideration oil absorption and specific density in order to adjust PVC/CPVC* ratio to the original level. * PVC : Pigment Volume Concentration CPVC : Critical Pigment Volume Concentration Liquid organic corrosion inhibitor specifically designed for use in water-borne and solvent-borne coatings systems.
