IRGAGUARD B 1000 is very effectively inhibiting the growth of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. The use of IRGAGUARD B 1620 is recommended where high processing temperatures are reached (e.g. fibers) and where low migration rates are required. Suitable materials are PET, polyolefins (PP, LD & HDPE), Styrene resins and ABS. Key areas are PET and PP fiber applications (e.g. non-woven, fabrics, bristles), hospital supplies, PE film applications and others. IRGAGUARD B 1620 contains one of the most effective antimicrobials. The pellet form combines a remarkably low dust content with excellent fluidity. These pellets are highly resistant to attrition; offer a narrow particle size distribution and improved industrial hygiene. Due to the low dosing rates and a good compatibility to other matrices no impact on mechanical properties has been found.
