The product can be processed at temperatures > 500 oC. Special Glass/Zeolite design allow for controlled Silver-ion release. The bioavailability of Silver-ions is critical to the antimicrobial efficacy. IRGAGUARD B 6000 has been optimized for transparent applications such as films and sheets. Typical polymers are PE, PS, PVC, and others. IRGAGUARD B 6000 prevents growth of bacteria, mold and yeast on plastic surfaces. Therefore it provides odor control, hygiene maintenance and the possibility for product differentiation. The combination of low migration rates and high melting point makes it especially suitable for high processing and use temperatures as well as for thin layers. It gives durable efficacy even with thin plastic articles. IRGAGUARD B 6000 has been optimized with respect to color retention under sun light exposure as compared to standard Silver-based antimicrobials, which can show discoloration.
