Irganox XP 490 Blend of octadecyl-3-(3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)-propionate, tetrakis(2,4-di-tert-butylphenyl)[1,1-biphenyl]-4,4'-diylbisphosphonite and lactone Ciba Antioxidant >> Blend Alkyd Resins Polyester Coatings >> Powder Coatings Coil Coating General Industrial /Maintenance Electrical / Electronics Metal Coil Coating General Metal Coating Industrial Maintenance Coating Industrial Powder Coating IRGANOX XP 490 is highly effective, low-volatile and hydrolysis resistant antioxidant for coating resins. They protect resin polymers against oxidation during resin synthesis, manufacturing of the paint, processing (thermal curing and overbaking) and the designed life-time of the final coating. The products from the IRGANOX XP series provide excellent protection against discolouration and change of physical properties caused by excessive heat exposure. The IRGANOX XP blends provide outstanding thermal and colour stability to a variety of coating resins upon exposure to high temperatures, e.g. 200 - 250°C. They are particularly suited to stabilise alkyd and polyester resin based coating systems that are used in applications such as industrial powder coatings (electrical and gas oven heating) coil coatings other high bake coatings The HP-136 lactone containing IRGANOX XP blends’ unique feature is their outstanding performance (antioxidant efficiency) at relatively low concentration. This does not exclude that combinations of IRGANOX XP types with other phosphite or phosphonite co- stabilisers such as IRGAFOS 38 and IRGAFOS 168 or with thiosynergists such as IRGANOX PS 800 may demonstrate improved performance in specific uses. The concentration of IRGANOX XP blends required for optimum performance should be determined in trials covering a concentration range. 0.1-0.5% Highly effective, low-volatile and hydrolysis resistant antioxidant. Used in alkyd and polyester resin based coating systems such as industrial powder coatings (electrical and gas oven heating), coil coatings and other high bake coatings. Protects against oxidation during manufacturing, processing (thermal curing and overbaking) and life-time. Provides outstanding thermal and color stability upon exposure to high temperatures (200-250&deg;C). Offers outstanding antioxidant efficiency at relatively low concentration. Can be used in combination with other phosphite or phosphonite co-stabilisers and thiosynergists.<br> Use level: 0.1-0.5%.
