Dehydran 3185 Modified polysiloxane Cognis Defoamer / Antifoaming agent >> Silicone Acrylic/Acrylate Resins Vinyl Coatings >> Waterborne Wood & Furniture Coatings Metal Soluble in most commonly used solvents Dispersible in water Defoamer for aqueous systems. Solution of a modified polysiloxane. DEHYDRAN 3185 is a defoamer and air release agent for aqueous coatings based on polymer emulsions, including those containing cosolvents. These coatings are applied by spraying, dipping, rolling, brushing or curtain coating on substrates such as wood or metal. In emulsion polymerization as well as in suspension polymerization of e.g. PVC and acrylics DEHYDRAN 3185 shows outstanding properties due to its long term efficiency. DEHYDRAN 3185 can be used during polymerization and for monomer stripping. Dosage is generally between 0.1 - 0.6%, calculated on total formulation. Tests should be carried out to ensure optimum perfomance. The best results can be achieved if DEHYDRAN 3185 is throughly incorporated as the last component during manufacture of the paint. Part of the addition can however be made to the grind or premix. Solution of a modified polysiloxane.
