APPLICATION AND PROPERTIES SER-AD FX 9010 is a liquid 100% solids anionic polymeric dispersing agent and grinding vehicle, specifically designed for use in air drying high solids alkyd paints. SER-AD FX 9010 is reactive towards autoxidation and as a consequence, it is incorporated in the polymer binder matrix during the drying process. The product shows excellent performance as a pigment dispersing agent preventing pigment flocculation. This is especially noticable in paints tinted with universal colorants. Properties such as color development and colorant acceptance are improved when using SER-AD FX 9010 as a grinding vehicle in the base paint. The multi-functional structure of SER-AD FX 9010 renders excellent interaction with a wide range of pigments, inorganic as well as organic types. DOSAGE For maximum efficiency, SER-AD FX 9010 is added prior to the grinding stage, and used as the grinding vehicle. The concentration of SER-AD FX 9010 varies from ca. 2...10% on total formulation; the quantity of alkyd resin can be reduced with the same amount. With the use of SER-AD FX 9010 it is unnecessary to put another special grinding resin in the paint formulation. In trouble-shooting situations, SER-AD FX 9010 can be added as a post additive.
