Serdas 7540 Organic ester based Condea Servo Defoamer / Antifoaming agent Vinyl Coatings >> Waterborne GENERAL INFORMATION SERDAS 7540 is a silicone free liquid defoamer for use in water-based systems, for direct application. SERDAS 7540 has outstanding emulsifying properties in water. APPLICATION AND PROPERTIES SERDAS 7540 is specially recommended for systems that are sensitive to surface defaults such as gloss dispersion paints and low pigmented systems. The product is also recommended for silicate paints. SERDAS 7540 is easy emulsifiable in water. This results in a very fine, even distribution of SERDAS 7540 and is extremely suitable for low viscous systems. The product is also recommended for low PVC coatings, like gloss emulsion paints. SERDAS 7540 coalesces minute air bubbles in the water phase, allowing them to rise and suppress foaming during the manufacture, the let-down-process, the canning as well as during the application of the paint. SERDAS 7540 is organic ester based and oil free. The product is BGA approved. The latter procedure is recommended if the product is used in rather unstable emulsions or dispersions and the defoamer has to be added under slow mixing conditions. The exact concentration to be used depends on the individual conditions. In general a rate of 0.2 – 0.5% SERDAS 7540, calculated on the total quantity of the paint system, will give excellent results.
