Cymel 385 Methylated melamine-formaldehyde resin Cytec Crosslinking / Coupling / Curing Agents >> Amine >> Melamine-formaldehyde Coatings >> Waterborne Wood & Furniture Coatings Water CYMEL 385 resin is a methylated melamine-formalde-hyde resin with a low degree of alkylation. It is recom-mended as a crosslinking agent for hydroxyl containing emulsion polymers and other aqueous systems contain-ing hydroxyl or amide functionality. CYMEL 385 resin has a high tendency to self-condense and may be used to increase the hardness and resistance properties of thermoplastic water-borne polymers. Fast cure response High tendency to self-condense Water soluble High solids Low formaldehyde release Emulsion top-coat systems Water-borne wood finishes Non-woven binders High solids methylated melamine-formalde-hyde resin. Used as a crosslinking agent for hydroxyl containing emulsion polymers and other aqueous systems containing hydroxyl or amide functionality such as emulsion top-coat systems and water-borne wood finishes. Possesses low degree of alkylation and high tendency to self-condense. Increases hardness and resistance properties of thermoplastic water-borne polymers. Offers fast cure response and low formaldehyde release.
