Cymel MB-13-B Butoxymethyl methylol melamine Cytec Crosslinking / Coupling / Curing Agents >> Amine >> Melamine-formaldehyde Acrylic/Acrylate Resins Alkyd Resins Polyester Coatings >> Solventborne Automotive OEM Automotive refinishing n-Butanol Soluble in alcohols, esters, ketones and aromatic hydrocarbons Slightly soluble in aliphatic hydrocarbons Insoluble in water In solvent borne systems CYMEL MB-13-B resin is a butylated melamine-form-aldehyde crosslinking agent with a medium degree of alkylation, a medium methylol content and low imino functionality. CYMEL MB-13-B resin is a very effective crosslinking agent for backbone polymers containing hydroxyl, amide and, to some extent, carboxyl functional groups such as alkyd/polyester or acrylic resins. CYMEL MB-13-B resin is suitable for a wide range of industrial stoving systems, like automotive finishes, pro-viding excellent film hardness, outdoor durability, flow and mar resistance properties, and very good overspray compatibility. In water borne systems CYMEL MB-13-B resin is insoluble in water and, because of its polymeric and hydrophobic nature, is not recom-mended in water borne systems. Butylated melamine-formaldehyde crosslinking agent. Used in solvent-borne systems for backbone polymers containing hydroxyl, amide and, to some extent, carboxyl functional groups such as alkyd/polyester or acrylic resins. Provides very good film hardness, outdoor durability, flow and mar resistance properties, and very good overspray compatibility. Possesses a medium degree of alkylation, a medium methylol content, low imino functionality and hydrophobic nature. Suits for a wide range of industrial stoving systems, like automotive finishes.
