AEROSIL® EG 50 shows a very low content of trace elements and distinct low thickening and agglomeration properties. It possesses extremely low content of trace elements, minor thickening effect resulting in an excellent dispersion behaviour in aqueous media, enables high filler loading, broad particle size distribution, low tendencies to form agglomerates. It is used in optical fiber with extremely low signal loss, complex optical components like lenses with special shape and outstanding UV-transparency, lithographic photomasks, molded specialty silica glass bodies for use in semiconductor industry, silica glass coatings with thicknesses in the micrometer range for surface finishing applications, e.g. on glass or metals (resistant to chemicals, scratches and corrosion), dental composites.
