Dynasylan 3403 3-Mercaptopropylmethyldimethoxysilane 31001-77-1 Degussa-Sivento Adhesion promoter / Bonding agent >> Organofunctional silane Crosslinking / Coupling / Curing Agents Metal >> Primer Other industry >> Glass Coating Soluble in alcohols Soluble in ketones Soluble in aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbons DYNASYLAN 3403 is a bifunctional organosilane possessing a reactive organic mercaptan and a hydrolyzable inorganic dimethoxysilyl group. Bbinds chemically to both inorganic materials (e.g. glass, metals, fillers) and organic polymers (e.g. thermosets, thermoplastics, elastomers), thus functioning as an adhesion promoter, crosslinking agent, surface modifier or reactive reagent. Due to the methyl group DYNASYLAN 3403 is slightly hydrophobic. DYNASYLAN 3403 is a clear, colorless to light yellow liquid with a ester-like to mercaptan odor. Used as a glass and metal primer. Improved adhesion Improved mechanical properties, e.g. flexural strength, tensile strength, impact strength and modulus of elasticity Improved moisture and corrosion resistance Improved electrical properties, e.g. dielectric constant, volume resistivity Increased thermal resistivity DYNASYLAN 3403 can also improve such processing properties as: Improved filler dispersion Rheological behavior: (e.g. viscosity reduction, Newtonian behavior) Increased filler loading Bifunctional organosilane possessing a reactive organic mercaptan and a hydrolyzable inorganic dimethoxysilyl group. Used as a glass and metal primer. Acts as an adhesion promoter, crosslinking agent, surface modifier or reactive reagent. Improves mechanical and electrical properties, moisture and corrosion resistance. Increases thermal resistivity. Provides better filler dispersion and rheological behavior.
