DESCRIPTION Desettle 201 is white soft pastes that is non- reactive, non-discolouring, non-hydroscopic, and completely organic in nature. It is designed for highly efficient control of pigment settling in industrial finishes. Due to its softness, Desettle 201 can be handled easily and dispersed rapidly. FEATURES . Provide pigment non-settling suspension without affecting viscosity significantly. . Prevent sagging by adding thixotropes and do not affect film leveling. . Maintain stable viscosity during storage, though there is some precipitation but it can be mixed evenly, caking will never exist in the containers. . Improve film touchness and gloss, maintain uniform film thickness. . Help pigment wetting, improve color developing. . Do not affect the film gloss, yellowing, water resistance and film curing rate. . Desettle 201 with its stir-in property can be used as a post corrective agent, it is espe- cially suitable for metal pigment such as alu- minum pastes and flatting silicas, the anti- settling of fluorescent pigment. When it is applied to aluminum pastes, it helps the flake orientation and improve its gloss. APPLICATIONS . Desettle 201 is suitable for any solvent based air-dry and baking system. It is especially suitable for dipping coating application, im- prove the deficiency of anti-settling of bentonite. DOSAGE The recommended levels will vary depending on the different systems. Typical ranges are: . 1.0 - 5.0% calculated on the finished product. Desettle 201 can be added at any stage in the paint making procedure, but sufficient mixing is necessary. . Desettle 201 will have solification phenomena under low temperature, it has to be heated with hot water bath till it displays flowing paste before use. NOTE . Before applying Desettle 201, it has to be added into resin, after high rate dispersion, other material such as aluminum pastes, solvent, etc. is added and is mixed with low shear force.
