D.E.H 82 Phenolic Dow Chemical Crosslinking / Coupling / Curing Agents Epoxy Resins Coatings >> Powder Coatings Powder coating >> Architectural / Decorative Powder coating >> General industrial D.E.H.* 82 epoxy curing agent is a phenolic hardner and a reaction product of liquid epoxy resin and bisphenol- A containing a curing accelerator and a polyacrylate flow modifier. D.E.H. 82 curing agent is designed for powder coating applications. It is fully compatible with epoxy resins and it can be formulated into low bake (130°C) decorative or protective powder coatings. The relatively high reactivity of D.E.H. 82 curing agent can be reduced by substituting part of the hardener with D.E.H. 80 curing agent. The accelerator present in D.E.H. 82 curing agent tends to promote a catalytic crosslinking of the epoxy resin baking and for this reason it is suggested that a 10 to 20 % molar excess of epoxy over the hardener be used when formulating with D.E.H. 82 curing agent in order to produce cured coatings with optimum properties. As a result of the relatively high accelerator concentration present in D.E.H. 82 hardener, the powder coating formulations based solely on this hardener may have a limited storage stability and particular care should be taken during the summer months or in hot climates to prevent a rapid deterioration of the formulated powder coatings. Phenolic hardner and a reaction product of liquid epoxy resin and bisphenol- A containing a curing accelerator and a polyacrylate flow modifier. Used for powder coating applications. Offers compatibility with epoxy resins. Suits for low bake decorative and protective powder coatings.
