D.E.N 439 Epoxy novolac 28064-14-4 Dow Chemical Epoxy Resins >> Phenol & Cresol (Novolacs) Marine /Anti-Corrosive / Protective >> Marine Marine /Anti-Corrosive / Protective >> Heavy duty (anti-corrosive) Coil Coating D.E.N.* 439 epoxy novolac resin is a semi-solid reaction product of epichlorohydrin and phenol-formaldehyde novolac. D.E.N. 439 epoxy novolac resin is a general purpose, widely used epoxy novolac resin. It is recognized as a standard for high temperature applications from which variations have been developed. D.E.N. 439 has multi-epoxy functionality (±3.8). These addi-tional reactive sites produce tightly crosslinked cured systems. D.E.N. 439 epoxy novolac resin is useful in adhesives, structural laminates, coatings and castings for elevated temperature service. The thermal stability of a phenolic backbone with the reactivity and versatility of a bisphenol-A epoxy resin are combined in D.E.N. 439 epoxy novolac resin. Laminates can be made using D.E.N. 439 resin in combination with mica, synthetic glass-fiber or fiberglass reinforcement. Coil Coating Marine & Protective Coatings Semi-solid reaction product of epichlorohydrin and phenol-formaldehyde novolac. Used in coil, marine, and protective coatings for elevated temperature service. Produces tightly crosslinked cured systems. Offers thermal stability, reactivity and versatility.
