Dow Corning 23 Polydimethylsiloxane Dow Corning Abrasion Resistance Surface conditioner, miscellaneous >> Matting agent Surface conditioner, miscellaneous >> Texturing agent Coatings >> Powder Coatings Coatings >> Solventborne Coatings >> UV / Radiation Curing Coatings >> Waterborne Marine /Anti-Corrosive / Protective Architectural / Decorative Automotive OEM Automotive refinishing Wood & Furniture Coatings Dow Corning 22 and 23 Additives are cured silicone elastomeric powders. When blended into coatings formulations, these materials provide textured or matte finishes with a unique, silky, soft touch. Due to the elastic nature of the particles, the scratch resistance of the coating is improved by allowing film deformation and recovery. Process-controlled particle size allows for consistent additive distribution and uniform film appearance. The epoxy functionality of Dow Corning 23 Additive promotes the incorporation of the elastomer particle into the resin binder matrix. USES Dow Corning 22 and 23 Additives are intended for use in decorative and protective coatings for automotive and marine trim, office furniture, household appliances, and electronic housings. These additives are suitable for use in powder coatings, solventand water-based, air-drying and heatcurable systems. LIMITATIONS Not intended for medical use. HOW TO USE Dow Corning 22 and 23 Additives should be added to a portion of the resin/solvent system under high shear conditions prior to blending into the final formulation. The additives are typically added at levels from 0.5-5.0 percent, based on coating solids. None.
