Neoprene 400 Neoprene Dupont Dow Elastomers Chlorinated Rubber General Industrial /Maintenance Miscible in water Neoprene 400 liquid dispersion (LD) contains a high modulus, very fast crystallizing copolymer of chloroprene and 2,3- dichloro-1,3-butadiene made in an anionic colloidal system. High Chlorine Content The polymer in Neoprene 400 has the highest chlorine level of all the Neoprene polymers and, consequently, provides the best flame resistance available in the family of Neoprene LDs. Outstanding Ozone and Weather Resistance Films from Neoprene 400 properly protected with an antioxidant and zinc oxide have outstanding resistance to deterioration from ozone attack and weathering. Fast Crystallizing Polymer Films from Neoprene 400 crystallize very rapidly. The crystallized films have very low surface tack, high modulus, and outstanding resistance to abrasion. It should be noted that crystallization is reversible and can be removed by warming the film above 70°C. Thus, it is important to recognize that, if a final product made from Neoprene 400 has acquired certain characteristics directly attributable to the crystalline nature of the polymer, the product may have distinctly different characteristics if it is used at elevated temperatures, wherein the polymer has lost its crystallinity. Back coatings Industrial coatings Dispersion of a high modulus, very fast crystallizing copolymer of chloroprene and 2,3- dichloro-1,3-butadiene made in an anionic colloidal system. Used in back and industrial coatings. Offers high chlorine content, outstanding ozone and weather resistance. Provides very good flame resistance, very low surface tack and outstanding resistance to abrasion.
