Its low odor and good solubility for spirit-soluble dyes make DM solvent useful in non-grain-raising wood stains, printing inks, and dye pastes for textiles. DM is also used in stamp-pad and stencil inks, as a diluent for hydraulic brake fluids, and as a deicer in jet fuel. For cosmetics applications, Eastman DM solvent has the INCI name Methoxydiglycol.
