Coatings formulated with DMCD bring excellent hardness/flexibility balance and good chemical, stain, humidity, and corrosion resistance to polyester-melamine baking enamels for appliance, general metal, and automotive applications. Its outstanding hydrolytic stability makes it a good choice in waterborne polyester resins for automotive, industrial maintenance, and general metal applications. DMCD can be used to make polyester polyols for polyurethane coatings for automotive, industrial maintenance, transportation, and aerospace applications as well. It has excellent hardness/flexibility balance, good hydrolytic stability, low color, excellent weathering, improved chemical, stain, corrosion, and humidity resistance, lower resin solution viscosity compared to aromatic acids. It is used as modifier for high molecular weight thermoplastic polymers, polyester polyols for polyurethane coatings, polyester-melamine baking enamels, unsaturated polyester resins for gel coats, waterborne polyester resins. Low melting, cycloaliphatic diester. Used in coatings for automotive, industrial maintenance, transportation, general metal and aerospace. Offers very good hardness/flexibility balance. Provides good hydrolytic stability. Exhibits very good weathering. Exhibits improved chemical, stain, corrosion and humidity resistance.
