EASTMAN IBIB (Isobutyl Isobutyrate) Prpanoic acid,2-methyl,2-methylpropyl ester 97-85-8 Eastman Chemical Company Solvent Coatings Automotive OEM Plastic coating Eastman IBIB (Isobutyl Isobutyrate) is an economical retarder solvent that is used in nitrocellulose lacquers, coatings for plastic substrates, and high-solids coatings. It is a slow-evaporating solvent with good flow and leveling characteristics, and good blush resistance. It is an economical, high-purity, active solvent for nitrocellulose. The low surface tension of IBIB is valuable in applications where wetting of the substrate is difficult. With low water miscibility, IBIB is an excellent retarder solvent for moisture-sensitive coatings such as 2-K polyurethanes. IBIB has high electrical resistance, which is helpful in adjusting the resistivity of a coating applied using electrostatic spray equipment. IBIB can be used in blends to replace xylene and Exxate 600. It shows high blush resistance ,low density ,low surface tension ,low-cost retarder solvent: Lower formulation cost,Non-HAP ,urethane grade: Suitable for use with moisture-sensitive polymers, high electrical resistance, low MIR value ,low water solubility ,moderate solvent activity, slow evaporation rate. It is used in coatings - OEM and Special Purpose ,EXXATE 600 replacement blends ,thinner blends and purge solvents ,xylene replacement blends . Isobutyl Isobutyrate. Used in plastic coatings and OEM coatings. Offers good flow and leveling characteristics. Possesses good blush resistance. Exhibits high electrical resistance.
