It is a colorless liquid with a mild odor. Eastman PM Acetate is an excellent solvent for several commonly used coating polymers, including cellulose acetate butyrate, nitrocellulose, epoxy resins, acrylic copolymers, and phenoxy resins. The combination of slow evaporation rate and good solvent activity makes PM acetate an effective retarder solvent for use in lacquers, thinners, and baking enamels.
