A colorless liquid with a fruity odor, n-butyl acetate is an active solvent for film-formers such as cellulose acetate butyrate, nitrocellulose, ethyl cellulose, chlorinated rubber, polystyrene, and methylacrylate resins. It is widely used in nitrocellulose lacquers, readily dissolving the resin and imparting good flow properties. Eastman n-Butyl Acetate has an evaporation rate of 1.0, which provides a quick drying lacquer without inducing blushing under normal circumstances. Many natural gums are also soluble in n-butyl acetate. It is used in coatings ,nail care ,solvents for cosmetics and personal care ,coatings for plastic ,solvents ,solvents for fragrances. Medium boiling ester solvent. Used in plastic coatings. Imparts good flow properties.
