EFKA 5064 Partial amide and salt of high molecular weight unsaturated carboxylic acid, combined with an organically modified polysiloxane Efka Additives Dispersing agents >> Surfactants-like >> Sodium polyacrylates / Polyacrylic acids Wetting agent/ Wet edge enhancer Acrylic/Acrylate Resins Alkyd Resins Amino Resins Chlorinated Rubber Polyurethane Coatings >> Solventborne Coatings >> Solvent-Free/ High-Solids Alkylbenzene, diisobutylketone Properties: EFKA-5064 helps to prevent interfacial tension between the hydrophilic pigments/extenders and the binder. The properties are enhanced due to the inclusion of a very compatibile polysiloxane ingredient. This means: shorter dispersion time stabilization of the pigment dispersion reduced tendency to flooding and floating of the pigments prevention of Bénard cell formation increases gloss and surface smoothness EFKA-5064 possesses better compatibility than EFKA-5065 or EFKA-5066. Application: EFKA-5064 is particularly suited for the following binder systems: air-dried short-oil alkyd resins alkyd/amino resin blends acrylic resin blends polyurethane systems 2-pack systems chlorinated polymers EFKA-5064 is not compatible with white spirit or systems which are diluted with white spirit. Addition: 0.5 - 2.5% based on inorganic pigments 2.5 - 5.0% based on organic pigments Incorporation: EFKA-5064 should be added prior to the dispersion process. Solution of wetting and dispersing additive to prevent flooding and floating. Helps to prevent interfacial tension between the hydrophilic pigments/extenders and the binder. The properties are enhanced due to the inclusion of a very compatibile polysiloxane ingredient. Provides short dispersion time, stabilization of the pigment dispersion. Prevents of Bénard cell formation. Increases gloss and surface smoothness. Can be used with air-dried short-oil alkyd resins, alkyd/amino resin blends, acrylic resin blends, polyurethane-systems, 2-pack systems, chlorinated polymers. Not compatible with white spirit or systems which are diluted with white spirit. Addition: 0.5 - 2.5% based on inorganic pigments and 2.5 - 5.0% based on organic pigments. Should be added prior the dispersion process. Possesses better compatibility than EFKA-5065 or EFKA-5066.
