M-P-A 4020 BA 2 additive handles easily and disperses rapidly. It is organic in nature, having a nominal non- volatile content of 20%. It prevents the formation of difficult to disperse, hard packaged pigment cake during use and storage in coatings, where the use of a HAPS-free carrier is suitable. M-P-A 4020 BA 2 additive contributes little to the apparent package viscosity of the coating, while providing pigment antisettling. Where a higher viscosity is desired, it is advantageous to use M-P-A 4020 BA 2 additive in combination with other Elementis Specialties rheological additives which are designed to increase viscosity, such as BENTONE, BENTONE 57, BENTONE 38 or BENTONE SD-2. Sufficient BENTONE additive should be used to give the required viscosity, and M-P-A 4020 BA 2 additive added until the desired degree of pigment settling control is achieved. exterior architectural primer HAPS-free and moisture-free organic rheological additive.
